State COVID-19 testing site open daily in North Sarasota
UPDATE: The site has reached daily capacity and is closed for the day Monday, July 6. It will reopen July 7.
Sarasota, FL: A state-run, walk-up COVID-19 testing site is open to the public daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 34th St., in North Sarasota.
The site was created through a partnership with the Florida Division of Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Health, the Florida National Guard, Sarasota County and the City of Sarasota and coordinated by State Rep. Wengay Newton and NAACP Sarasota Branch President Trevor Harvey.
No appointments or prescriptions are necessary, and individuals can walk or park their vehicles at the community complex and receive free testing regardless of residency or symptoms. Antibody testing is not currently offered at this site.
The site will be open daily from 8-5 or until daily testing capacity is reached.
